Tutorials
This is, as usual, a long-time coming and very delayed (you can guess where the hold up was — with me, in case you couldn’t…), but: I finally managed to update the R-HTA website to include a very interesting piece of work that Robert Smith and Paul Schneider from University of Sheffield have done. Rob and Paul have written a tutorial paper on how to implement a full Markov model for economic evaluation using R and in particular R-Shiny.
You will probably know this is one of my pet projects and I do believe there is a huge potential to change the way the whole field of health economic evaluation works — both in industry (consultancy etc) and in academia, as well as all the way to the regulators. Their work builds on cool stuff that the friends on the other side of the pond have made and I think it can be very helpful to spread the word!
